5. At some point, Republican incumbents up for reelection have to make a choice.

1. Double down on Trumpism and hope for a miracle, like a coup, a major war, a massive election theft, or that most of the midterm voters really are racist dirtbags.

2. Repudiate Trump and hope to survive a primary challenge.

3. F*** it and retire.

My money's on #1 for most of them.
