My first trip to Liberty Island was 1972. Looking up at Lady Liberty, I thought of my Maternal Great Grandparents from Italy and my Paternal Grandfather from Yugoslavia when they saw the torch, the flame of their dreams over 125 years ago when they set foot here.

Fast forward to 2018. A shitty president with a Shithole mouth has now tarnished that dream . How did we get to this point?

The idea of the USA has great appeal.

People like MLK or Barack Obama demonstrate to the world the possibilities to improve the practice of that idea.

People like Donald Trump demonstrate that there are still shitholes doing the stuff MLK and Obama stood against and go against the fundamental ideals of America. That would scare people away.

Trump and the cronies who prop him up are a shitstain on America's reputation. Once we put them in our rearview mirror, we can move on to bigger and better things.
