Loved the trilogy (books) never saw this movie, so lets enjoy it together.
She was a pretty decent author!

1. The miniseries is terrible

Lee Guin denounced it because they whitewashed the characters. Miyazaki's some did a version that is also b pretty weak.

3. Miyazaki the Younger butchered the story. I think he was working out some Oedipal issues...

...with that strange uncalled for patricide at the very beginning.

I don't know why Ursula le Guin's immense storytelling gifts have not ever been truly realized in the film media.
