as the much of the investigation portion concerns what trump and his people did before being sworn in as president....until then, trump or any person can refuse to answer any questions at a "meeting"

privilege can only be asserted after taking the oath of office, until that moment trump was not president

Trump has no knowledge of or respect for the the seriousness of the office he inexplicably holds. He doesn't know history or how government works and he has no wish or ability to learn. All he knows is his realty/game show, whatever that was. He just thinks he's the boss, and anything that he says goes - and part of the "game" is finding participants who are "loyal" to him - otherwise, out they go. The cast of characters in his administration has constantly changed, but that's what happens with game shows.

Since he believes he's in charge, he thinks he can do anything he wants to anyone, since he regards them as all his "employees." He's referred to "his" military and no doubt thinks that it's "his" FBI. He has no conception about co-equal branches of government. Since he "hired" someone for the Supreme Court, he probably thinks he can "fire" them, too. He's no doubt frustrated he can't do the same with Congress. I remember early on, after he fired Comey, wondering if he'd then try to "fire" Chuck Schumer.

pretty much gotten away way everything. That is why he feels he is above the law and the law bows to him. Badly mistaken. Plus side, his arrogance may bring him to have a chat with Mueller, of course all trumps' lawyers will do all they can to prevent that. But you never know. The real deal is when trump is hit with the Grand Jury as there are so many felony charges we can only imagine. Trump has bought and sold many district attorneys over the years. Don't think is going to work with Mueller and his team.

We hear about more scandals - new and old - every single day. And those are just the ones we hear about. I don't envy anyone investigating him - it's got to be like opening Pandora's Box!

And since he's gotten away with lying so often, what's going to happen if he's placed under oath? I don't think he is capable of being honest. As you said, he thinks he can just bully his way though anything.

with all these guys having given evidence, and 40 years of business history, and monies sloshing through banks on 4 continents, they've got the goods with or without Trump testifying. Any interview is just an opportunity to add lying as a charge. It is so totally not necessary, unless used to probe whether the President is above the law. Might be good to get that out of the way.

But since Trump has no knowledge of history, even that which occurred in his lifetime, I doubt it would mean anything to him. Since he's lied so consistently, I doubt he has any idea what the actual truth is...
