Watch Ex-Trump Aide Sam Nunberg Get Cross-Examined: The Beat With Ari Melber - MSNBC

In a historic interview, former Trump aide Sam Nunberg tells Ari Melber he won’t comply with Mueller’s Grand Jury Subpoena because the Russia probe is trying to "set up” his mentor Roger Stone. For the first time, Nunberg admits on live TV That Mueller offered him “immunity”, but he claims he’s willing to go to jail and defy the Special Counsel.

At one time there were Ari Melber, who is an attorney, former U.S. District Attorney Barbara McQuade, and a second woman who was also an attorney. Ari did a masterful job of cross-examination, McQuade provided the practical effects of Nunberg's refusing to show up as ordered (using Susan McDougal as an example), and the other attorney put the whole thing in perspective -- why courts and prosecutors will not and cannot let a witness decide whether or not they will testify. When he was thoroughly boxed in, Nunberg fell apart saying, "They won't jail me, they won't jail me!", which had the same desperateness that Trump displays when he squawks, "No collusion, no collusion!"

After a day of dominating the news cycle with his bombastic statements, I think Ari's approach made Nunberg recognize that he really had no choice in the matter, and by Rachel's show he had changed his tune and agreed to honor the subpoena.

Way to go, Ari!

And I thought it was the definitive one. I agree, Ari was excellent, always worth watching.

8. Obey a subpoena, make a motion to quash, or be in contempt

It does not matter that you think you have better things to do. You can't ignore a subpoena because you don't want to spend the time. That is basic.
