just finished reading about a 71-year-old Polish man who recently completed his THIRD solo trip across the Atlantic --in a freaking kayak!

He did a Southern Atlantic, Middle Atlantic, and finally, North Atlantic crossing. The North Atlantic was the most dangerous, because it gets nastier storms and mountainous waves.

Why do such a thing? He gains nothing from it but satisfaction. He is not well-off, it is a very costly thing to do, and he doesn't make money from it. But he loves doing it.
