I can't believe these guys think that saying this is OK because it apparently is their model for good government and they don't see a problem?

what does that say about our electorates - our "system" - our "checks and balances" - when they can walk out there and admit that they are bought?

We knew it - we've known it - and haven't done a damned thing about it!! They are running crazy because we are letting them!

22. Tom DeLay (R_TX), as de facto Speaker of the House, said the same thing.

He said he kept a book listing contributions on his desk, and if anyone came to meet with him, he asked them to show their name in his book. If they couldn't show him, he told them to come back when they could.

DeLay was also a pioneer of the phony "charity" scam. He would set up a charity with a noble cause, then put his family and staff as administrators of the funds, at hefty salaries, of course. He would meet with lobbyists, and then pitch his charity before getting down to "business".

A totally self-generated rumor completing the only possible conclusion, based Mr. Mulvaney's statement.

Rumor has it that the third line of Mr. Mulvaney's was somehow excluded at the behest of Devin Nunes. It is rumored to read;

"And If you had cash, my door is always open."

But no, he's literally advertising for bids from lenders to write policy to screw over consumers. That's the exact opposite of what the department was founded to do.

The exact fucking opposite.
