I watch Fox News so you don't have to. And, as a public service announcement, I thought I'd let you know that Trump's main cheerleader has just crossed the Rubicon.
After continuously shouting "there was no collusion" for a full year, he officially switched to "collusion is not a crime" last night.
He even shouted it at Rudy Giuliani himself, and Giuliani (of all people) had to correct him, pointing out that it is a crime if it was part of a conspiracy. Hannity pushed, trying to get Giuliani to say that it's okay to get political opposition research from anybody. (Including material obtained illegally by a HOSTILE foreign government that is intent on weakening or destroying the United States, apparently.) Even in his semi-senile state, Giuliani wouldn't go along with that.
Watch from 10:30 onward.
This is significant, because we all knew the Republican flying monkey squad would arrive here eventually. In the denial bunker.
The Trump defence has gone as follows:
There was NO CONTACT between the Trump Campaign and any Russians.
...then...
Okay, there was contact, but there was no DISCUSSION.
.....then...
Okay, there was discussion, but there was no COLLUSION,
.....and finally...
Okay, there was collusion...but COLLUSION ISN"T A CRIME!
Good luck with that argument, asshats.

(3,515 posts)They are right. Collusion is not the name of the crime.
But stealing e-mails is a crime, and conspiring with someone to receive the benefit, that is, to profit from the publication of stolen e-mails just might be.
That may be why Muller is first of all trying to establish in a court that those who stole the e-mails committed a crime.
The Trump campaign was advised by Papadapoulos that the Russians had stolen the e-mails. But the Trump campaign never reported the theft or that the Russians were the thieves to American authorities. Their failure to report the theft could make them complicit in the crime, conspirators after the fact, under certain circumstances.
In contrast, Hillary's lawyers obtained information about Trump's activities in Russia from a British ex-spy who obtained the information from Russian sources, but Hillary's source reported the information about Trump and shared it with the FBI.
We don't yet know through what individuals or paths Russia helped Trump because we are not privy to the information, especially the many documents, that Mueller has.
We do know, however, that the Russian trolls were very busy online, and the trials about their activities will take place before too long. As Mueller's case is made public, Fox News will go into denial more and more.
The Trump scandal and Fox News part in it could end Fox News as we know it.
Meanwhile, what statute did Hillary violate with regard to her e-mails? Any?
If she had violated a statute, wouldn't the congressional committees have let us know?

(2,682 posts)calling it by its real name, the one that IS against the law, the one that IS a criminal offense: CONSPIRACY!!!
Conspiracy in several forms: conspiracy to defraud, conspiracy to commit crimes, conspiracy to obstruct justice, conspiracy to abuse power, conspiracy to interfere in elections, conspiracy to launder money, conspiracy to conceal financial crimes.
C O N S P I R A C Y !!!!!
No more pussy-footing it around by using its more polite name of collusion.

(14,046 posts)If there was a fraction of the evidence against a Democratic President, the Republicans would be at the point arguing about which method of execution is the most painful.
