there's a lot of "tech worship" by people - when in reality they're the same old robber barons of old...

He's trying to do some good things, like cut our reliance on fossil fuels.

But at the same time, he's out of touch because he's so ultra wealthy that he is completely out of touch with what happens to regular people, or the struggles of people who don't have enough.

The problem is the people who like him so much that they feel he is beyond reproach and cannot be criticized.

This thread sucks. Who cares if he doesn't want to feed short selling trolls? The reality is he is creating the most battery capacity in the world, he is making vastly more solar power on the market, he is creating electric cars, he is helping more than anyone else to avoid catastrophic climate change. The haters can take their propaganda and shove it because the world needs leaders doing what Elon is doing. The survival of our planet depends on it.

6. Why these hit pieces get made.

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/06/06/shorts-against-teslas-stock-lose-more-than-1-billion.html

That is why hit pieces like this get made. Tesla is the most heavily shorted stock in the US right now so there is billions and billions of dollars that will be lost by bears who are shorting it if the stock doesn't drop. The bears are currently losing their shorts because Tesla's stock just keeps going up as the company keeps hitting targets for Model 3 production (up to 3,500 built just last week alone).

Shorters are losing $1 billion a day so they are desperate to talk the stock down using any underhanded hit piece they can imagine. The OPENING should stop being a tool for financial speculators who want electric cars to fail because Tesla is doing fine and Musk is right to tell these bozos he will not play their word games designed to try to get negative headlines so the stock goes down.
