I expect the scumbag turned his back on this brave kid, as well as the bereaved dad.

.... get their message out.

It is sad to think that she was only being heard by the members of congress who are for better gun controls. Where as the other side of the room fears the NRA more than they care about the young kids that are being gun down in our schools.

I am a former military medic who has seen the damage guns can do. I am also a gun owner who knows that there should be middle ground between the gun violence and the gun deaths we see everyday and the realistic rights of the 2nd amendment.

I hunt and have a carry permit.

And she is a schoolmate of my niece at Stoneman-Douglas. These young people have been put through Hell by the republicans in congress, the right-wing media and the whores who gorge at the NRA feeding trough.

They have been forced to grow up overnight, having had their innocence stripped from them and forced to deal with situations most Americans can't even begin to process. And they are struggling. Everyday. Yes, still. My niece will never been the same sweet, happy-go-lucky child she was before this nightmare unfolded in her life. She knew everyone of those children killed; they were her friends. She is 15. She has nightmares. She can't be left alone. She has horrifying panic attacks in which she can't breathe. Since February 14, she has been sleeping with her Mum, something she hasn't done since she was a toddler. She has lost weight and all interest in the things she once loved doing.

I am so proud of Aalayah for making congress face this national tragedy. This young girl re-lived her horror all over again to explain to these so-called adults what it is that they can't seems to understand: these kids feel that they are NOT SAFE in their own communities.

That Brett Kavanaugh disrespected Fred Guttenberg in the despicable manner in which he did made my blood boil. If Aalayah can face this, then Kavanaugh should be adult enough to face her.
