He snatched it out of her hand with no force because her attention was with the moderators at the moment, didn't have a firm grip on it and didn't expect she needed to. Because, you know, she expected to be debating an adult. We've all seen toddlers exhibit more aggressive snatching. Probably why she was smiling, thinking "Really? Please, my child threw a better hissy fit this morning." And "throws" it at her? This is a baldfaced lie. He attempts to hand it back to her, she is amused ("Oh, now you want to be an adult? Lolno you can keep the microphone and go fuck yourself with it." Kthxbai! ) and declines to dignify his gesture (and the way she does it was the best part!) and he gingerly tosses it a few inches onto the table in front of her. Like you'd gently toss a biscuit to someone 2 seats away at the dinner table, aiming for a safe spot in front of them instead of their soup or the side of grandma's head. She briefly takes notice that he's done so, then turns her attention back to the moderators, completely disinterested in its return. I didn't see a woman in fear, I saw a woman who knows she won the debate. She was smiling and laughing with the moderators ffs. She probably didn't get the memo that is was Bring Your Inner Brat to the Debate Day.
Ms. Mahlberg is fine. She wasn't afraid, she was amused by his immaturity and stupidity. She handled it well. She'll make a fine member of the legislature.
