1. Here's the thing about Bernie

His default is often to frame things in a sort of divisive way. He starts with who we have to take on and then pivots to take on "the fossil fuel industry, the trump adminstration,' then talks about what we have to do, "And transform our energy system." and in the process "create millions of new jobs..." etc.

I would say lead with the inspirational goal, "transform our energy system, create millions of new jobs." Put that up front. that will appeal to anybody, across partisan lines and divides.

Only as subtext, not text, do you talk about the people who stand in the way. If you start out talking about those who stand in the way, you get people's backs up, you cause more division than there may need to be.

But Bernie is almost always stewing for an us vs them kind of fight. Sometimes you have to have those fights. But you should try to avoid them if you can find a uniting rallying cry that will transcend divisions.

Why should we vote for Bernie if he doesn't have the tact to be diplomatic? I've tried very hard to reduce the number of confrontational people in my personal life (which benefits my overall health) so why would I want someone with that disposition to represent my political views?

stating the problem is the Democrats "job killing regulations" not the fossil fuel industry. The sheep believe this because that's what's being force fed to them. The fossil fuel industry fills the airwaves with "feel good" commercials about how wonderful and responsible they are. Always beware of any company that pays for commercial air time for PR rather than selling a product.

Bernie is saying "here's the problem, here's the solution and here's who's fighting the solution." If only our other leaders would be as blunt and honest as Bernie is when it comes to calling out corporate malfeasance we would be in much better shape.

That's why he is so direct.

Pointing out the perpetrators is not being divisive it's being blunt.

You can disparage him all you want, but he is an American who talks the talk AND walks the walk.

Someone you want on your side of the fight.

Bernie's approach is like a blunt instrument when you need someone who can thread needles and bring many and diverse voices to the table. He's a divisive populist in progressive clothing. He does narrow casting when broad based coalitions are called for.

We lost over 1,000 legislative seats and got Donald Trump.

Trump was a wake up call for our party. America needs straight shooters, not needle threaders. One strong, unified message.

Ultimately, Beto's a loser. Close to turning a red state blue doesn't cut it. He needs some experience. Needs to prove he can actually win a state wide office.

And please, we had quite enough of Bernie already. Time to move on.
