Nothing forces them to use their money to help others. A 70% tax rate would help solve the hoarding IMO.

Maybe people would have more to give if they had more in their pocket ...or maybe people wouldn't be in a situation that they need to rely on a foundation. Foundations have been started by people with less money than these top earners so it's not like they couldn't still create them or support them.

....the commons. Why should the .01% define the direction our public services, policies, and needs take via such "donations."
Plus the rich get their family name to go up in lights etc.
Through his donations Gates is remaking public education. It's not okay.
Pay your effing share---raise all boats through universal health care, safe infrastructure, libraries, good public schools for all, research that allows us to enter the 21st century in fiber tech, universal basic income, funding for the arts. Etc.
