The rethugs are doing exactly what the Nazis did when it was certain they would lose to the Allied forces. They further entrenched and amped up their efforts to exterminate the prisoners they had in their concentration camps, then they amped up the "trains East". All of this was an effort to cover their tracks. This is what the likes of McConnell et al remind me of right now. They are fluffing Trump and trying to hide what they've done.

I have been saying the same thing that Hartmann is saying for a year. All the court orders and all the subpoenas, a impeachment conviction and order to step down as President, and even the election results if Trump loses in 2020 are all just pieces of paper as far as Trump is concerned.

I think all that is happening and has happened over the last 2 years are part of a well thought out plan to transform our country from a Democracy to a Dictatorship. Stone walling and ignoring Congress, ignoring court orders, expanding the power of the Presidency by governing by executive orders and packing the Supreme Court and lesser Federal Courts are all part of a plan. Trump is too stupid to have to plan this destruction of the USA. I don't think anyone on his staff or his current advisors are capable of it. But I remember a interview with Steve Bannon and he was asked if his agenda was to re-organize the government he replied "No, I intend to take it down". Bannon is smart enough to have mapped out everything that is happening) Even though Bannon was more or less officially kicked of the team I believe Trump stays in close contact with him. (probably on Trumps private cell phone during his "executive time).

***Side note; After making the plan for taking down the US govt and seeing it carried out Bannon has set his sights on taking down China's government. He makes no secret of his plan and he recently bought a 800 bed vacant monastery Asia that he is turning into a training center.

Now don't forget that the other 2 supposedly co-equal branches of government have no police power. That is all invested in the Constitution in the Executive branch.

Our only hope to save our Democracy without a internal war (civil war) is if Trump dies of a heart attack (or hopefully some more painful health problem) before the 2020 election.

If the Dems can beat him in 2020 and we have a new President sworn into office we still have a chance to save our Democracy though as Michael Cohen told Congress it will not be a peaceful transition. Trump is counting on having the Military, all the law enforcement that is under his control and the motorcycle gangs to help him stay in office.

If we beat him in the 2020 election and have a Dem President sworn into office that new President becomes Commander in Chief of the military. Though some military officers might side with Trump I can't help but believe that the great majority of them would respect the oath they took to defend the Constitution and would follow the orders of the newly elected Commander in Chief even if it involved a civil war.

Let's hope and pray it will be a short one.
