I believe there's no turning back now. The intransigent ignorance and stupidity of mankind has defeated mankind's genius and intelligence.

The stupid have rigged the game and have won.

It's not just the U.S. and its army of drooling Trump supporters, although they have played and are playing a decisive roll, but it is the entire world.

We have heard the poor nations often angry pleas for a little more time, a little more time to poison the air and put further wounds into a rapidly destabilized climate, so they can catch up with the rich nations. And we're almost convinced that they have a point, that there is an issue of fairness here, that the poor, trembling masses of the 2nd and 3rd world need time to improve their own situation and climb out of despair and poverty and . . .and it almost convinces us -- until we realize that it isn't and never was the poor in those nations seeking to delay any action. It was (and, in fact, has always been) the wealthy and greedy and acquisitive in those poor countries that cried and whined about the unfairness of restricting carbon emissions, because those restrictions would, inevitably, reduce their opportunities to further enrich themselves at the poor' expense.

Regardless the cause, the result is the world has collectively done nothing and still refuses to do anything, ignoring or insulting the angry pleas of a young girl, deriding the very scientists who have been giving increasingly strong warnings, because it takes less energy to ignore an obvious problem than to do anything about it, and because in ignorance their is profit.

I too am watching the beginnings of the end.

Born in 1945 and fearful for my grandson.
