I wish the clip extended into how WalMart pioneered the double-part-time worker to avoid paying health benefits. By keeping the two jobs independent on the books, they can claim the individual is really two part-time workers (not eligible) even if they cross-bill between departments and the worker spends all of their time in one of them. It's catching on. Ahold is doing it. Target's doing it. Home Depot does it. WalMart started it. They don't give a shit about the employees.

you than you generate in productivity you're simply tossed aside. It has always been and it always will be unless there's a Union to shift the balance of power.

Canada doesn't allow that part of the contract, so they actually DO have unionized WalMarts. Don't expect that to happen here anytime soon. If management gets a wiff of the word "union" you're out on your ass.
