(4,667 posts)I DVR'd the show and saw it this morning. Very disappointing. The other guy was better. I don't care what the other actor's "actual" racial classification was. There was no reason to change.
SNL is not off to a good start in terms of trying to match the tremendous work they did 4 years ago.

(1,488 posts)I agree with you that Jay wasn't very good, but this was his first shot at it. I'd give it a few weeks to see where they go with it.

(51,512 posts)His attempts to mimic fail because they are not what Obama does, like with all that weird eye squinting he kept doing. That was more like what Clint Eastwood does! There are WAY better Obama impersonators our there and they ought to hire one.
SNL should get this guy:
I haven't watched them in years. They just don't have the punch of Rosanne Rosanna Dana and the rest of that crew. "Never mind". I loved it.

(1,488 posts)SNL NEVER hires one trick ponies. You need a lot of range and training working in an ensemble to get on the show.

(14,807 posts)written lines could have been much better though. The rest of the show had a good moments I thought but I feel they are relying too much on a couple of women who do not have much character range.
