Stephen Colbert: Guest John Bolton

John Bolton: I Entered The Trump Administration Aware Of The Problems

When former National Security Advisor John Bolton voted for Donald Trump in 2016 he decided to roll the dice on an unknown instead of backing a Democrat. Amb. Bolton made a similar gamble when he joined the Trump administration thinking he could help guide what he knew was a problematic approach to foreign policy. His new book "The Room Where It Happened" is out now.

John Bolton Would Vote Steve Mnuchin And Rudy Giuliani Off Trump Island

When asked by Stephen Colbert which Trump administration figures he would eliminate given the chance, former National Security Advisor John Bolton names Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin as the person doing the most policy damage and Rudy Giuliani as the worst of the President's outside influences. All of this is discussed in his new book "The Room Where It Happened."

John Bolton: What We Don't Know Will Hurt Us Regarding Trump's Dealings In Ukraine

Former National Security Advisor John Bolton believes there is more damaging behavior yet to be revealed with regards to President Trump's quid pro quo with Ukraine and similar dealings with other foreign governments. Bolton discusses this and more in his new book :The Room Where It Happened."

John Bolton: Republicans Face A Reckoning After The 2020 Election No Matter Who Wins

4. I know what you mean, he acknowledges there's a problem, but did nothing about it when he could have

My impression was, early on, that Stephen was close to losing his temper. Not surprising after all he's said about Bolton over the past 2+ years! But he's enough of a pro that he held it together.

He voted for Trump, he served in Trump's administration when asked, and then he bails... his ideology is still pretty much as it was before with the exception that now he is telling all to make money on the deal... idk..its very icky feeling, watching him.

He had so many opportunities to speak up and instead he walked away and decided to sell a book revealing the atrocities that he witnessed. He could have done something when he had the chance, but instead he's revealing what he knew on his book tour...

After WWII you had the Nuremberg trials that brought the Nazi leaders to justice.. either life in prison , hung or shot with a firing squad. I don't think anything like that will happen when Trump is relieved of duty... his plan all along was to enrich himself and everyone scrambled for a piece below him...

what would be ironic if he died of the Covid 19 virus... it would be Karma in my book.

7. It was brought up in the Bolton interview, it took the Republicans to take down Nixon

But apparently there are no Republican patriots currently serving in our Senate this time around. And they aren't actually Republicans, which was also brought up, they've sworn allegiance to a narcissist traitor!

Republicans against Trump... no Republicans in the Senate or the House... but at least Steve Schmidt has turned coat, and jumped to our side, at least until they put a somewhat sane person in the white house... its not much to ask for but every bit of help...helps!

Who appear and are very vocal on the news shows, Steve Schmidt being the most vociferous and articulate. But where are the patriots among our elected representatives?? They work for us and are letting us down tremendously by siding with a would-be dictator rather the Constution that they swore to uphold and those Americans that they were elected to represent!

with the exception of Mitt Romney , they are all in lock step with this President. I can only hope we handle this the way its always been handled with traitors to the USA.

13. Where's John McCain when we need him?

I didn't vote for John McCain, but I never doubted his patriotism. And Mittens Romney was a surprise to me, but we'll take what we can get. But the mind-blowing aspect of all this is he's all we've got! The US Senate in particular needs a serious house cleaning, they have tied themselves forever to Trump and history will judge them along with Benedict Arnold and the worst of the Civil War confederates.

Yes, we all know who John Bolton is, that was no surprise, but I was anxious to see how Colbert would handle it since I'm well aware of how ruthlessly he's gone after Bolton (with the help of Dana Carvey) as far back as he's been in the news. And he got in another parting shot tonight!

To me, the way Colbert handled this interview was the interesting and newsworthy part. He had obviously done his homework (also, no surprise) and because he devoted the entire show to exposing him for who he is on every issue, that's why this interview deserves our attention.

Early on, I detected a quick flash of temper on his face, but he persevered and got in every question on every issue, and no news show or journalist interview could have done better. And he's a late night comedian! We already know that politics is Stephen Colbert's prevailing interest, but he outdid even himself on this one. And I'm rooting for him to finally beat out his pal John Oliver for the Emmy this year!

Bolton, instead of patriotic duty, chose to cash out. What a good republican. Now is says he can't vote for the mango mussolini, but won't vote for Biden. Being pinned down by ideological belief and the thirst for money makes him a despicable man, now reinforced. I do hope this is his last interview and he heads for the dustbin.

I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire.

Another unpatriotic piece of shit.

The only reason he is pissed is because he didn't get to start another useless war.

Fuck him.

I hope his book fails miserably.

What the fuck happened to this country ??????????????????
