Goldwater moved the party I knew to the party he started with. Down south, the Republican Party I knew were for the 2 party system which we did not have. It was only the Democratic Party of Lester Maddox, Orval Faubus, and George Wallace. They were the liberal Democrats. The republicans were for civil rights and unions etc.

The Kennedy's came about and things changed big time. The racists and the ones like him joined up with Nixon for the new Republicans and the social liberals jumped to the D's. A lot of people like my parents stayed R until the moderate conservative Clinton came around and they changed to D.

and as long as he believes the rubbish about small government, trickle down money, poor people are lazy, the unattainable ends justify unacceptable means, and winning is everything, he's part of the problem, because that is Reagan's Republican Party.

Those of us who recognized all this stuff knew it would be this bad.

This guy is a Reagan Republican. He's not someone who's opinion I would usually put much stock in. Let's face it, Reagan was a terrible president.

But, at least this guy is smart enough to see that Trump isn't someone you can trust to run our country. So, maybe he's a one time Democrat, and maybe he won't vote Democrat down ballot, unless there is some super Trumper running for Congress or Governor.

But it's a small victory if he is willing to help throw the Trump beast out of the White House.

I'll take it.

Refusing to applaud a Republican who's openly stating he won't vote for Trump is foolish.
