With the nation hitting another grim coronavirus milestone with over 5 million confirmed cases, the president used his latest briefing to attack efforts to vote by mail and dismissed election meddling by Russia instead hitting Democrats. MSNBC's Brian Williams has details. Aired on 8/10/2020.

briefings on TV? Just report anything of VALUE afterwards, let the rally material get cut. Free election publicity for him to spread his lies. Who really wants to hear what he has to say about ANYTHING? His magats, of course, but nobody with a brain. Waste of time allowing him to take up space on TV. He IS exposing his lack of intelligence, though. What a disgrace he is for this country.

But, of course, they're always worried about "access" - like the legitimate ones are ever going to get him to honestly answer any serious questions. I tuned into the first interminable "virus briefing" and learned my lesson, never again. As you said, the last thing I needed to see was a damn Trump rally. But as long as he's in office and making news, the reporters will show up. Though it has to be as painful for them as for the rest of us. The one blessing is when the news channels cut away and go back to reporting actual news...
