....and the Democrats creamed them in the Congressional elections.

They proclaimed the death of the Republican Party, and other than Richard Nixon getting elected, the Republicans in general were a non-factor until the mid-80s.

I cannot get this smile off my face. Every once in a while it turns into a giggle and a facepalm.

What, seriously, they're just NOW glomming on to the really obvious fact that their candidate is a disaster? I swear he acts like an actor playing the wrong part in the wrong scene - like he has no clue how he comes across. Is this what happens when you spend your whole life getting your ass kissed?

My brother smiles like that. We come from very humble beginnings. But he has adopted that smile and lives in a wealthy neighborhood in Austin. I didn't get it. He smiled all the way through a conversation concerning my granddaughters cancer diagnosis. I remember that. Looking at him and seeing him still smiling. Just like Mitt Romney. I guess that plastic smile approach works in certain circles. Just doesn't work with me. Very very weird, and alienating. They just don't get it.

Joe Scarbrow was, shall we say, a little "discombobulated".

Oh, and by the way Joe, Missouri is relevant, Mika was right about that, too!

watch this again and again. It is the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. His buried face w/ the 'Oh, sweet Jesus' and giggles erupt. Destined to be a classic campaign moment w/ replays through the years.
