3. The Big Problem With the 2016 Election, and the Thing That Most Democrats Underestimated,

In my opinion, was the unlikeability factors adversely affecting Hillary, as well as the extent to which they could be exaggerated and whipped up into a frenzy by Trump and the Republicans. Joe Biden, who doesn't have those unlikeability factors, would have been a much better choice, but he had just lost his son Beau and was grieving, and was sitting the election out. It is true that likeability factors weigh far too heavily on the minds of most voters, who may have problems in objectively and rationally assessing the other factors pertaining to a candidate. I have heard so many voters complain that they just couldn't bring themselves to vote for Hillary, which was a huge tragedy in its own right. The only question voters should ask themselves, according to my sister, who introduced me to DU is this: Who do you think would be the best person to run the country for the next four years?
