Florida Reporter Doused With Water By Justin Lamar Sternad Wife.
When Local 10 Senior Political Reporter Michael Putney asked for comment about an FBI investigation into the relationship between a U.S. Congressman and another politician who ran in the August primary, he got doused with a pitcher of water.

Briefly, Rivera, the Republican who is running for Congress, has a history of corruption. In the Primaries, a strong Dem contender, Joe Garcia, was running hoping to win the primaries and then beat Rivera in the general election.
But this is where it gets strange. The guy whose wife threw water on the reporter, Justin Sternad, entered the primaries to compete against Garcia, as a Democrat.
So far these are three players:

Joe Garcia, Democrat
Justin Sternad, described as a Democrat.
But there is a fourth character in this story. Her name is Ana Sol Alliegro. She has been described as a 'Republican Bad Girl' who is apparently a Republican strategist 'with a colorful past'. For some reason she became involved by running the campaign of Justin Sternad.

Why would a Republican run a Democratic Campaign?
Sternad worked at a job where he earned only $30,000 a year. However, he somehow managed to spend over $60,000 on his campaign. Ana, his campaign manager told him that someone was very interested in his campaign and was helping him, but she would not say who.
To make a long, complicated story short, it appears the it was the Republican Rivera who may have been financing Sternad's campaign. Sternad is in trouble for false reporting of his campaign finances. Presumably, Rivera wanted to knock Garcia out of the primaries, which he failed to do btw.
Rivera denies he was behind Sternad's campaign. Sternad has told the FBI he was the one Ana was referring to, as she was very close to Rivera. The FBI wants to talk to Ana, but she has disappeared.
Ana herself has an interesting rap sheet, involving shooting at her husband, 'just to scare him'.
It's unbelievable that not only is there so much corruption involved here, but they weren't even good at it. And Rivera is still in the race. Hopefully this is a seat Dems can win.
Sternad is in trouble, I don't think he was ever in politics before, and am not sure if he was recruited to enter the race against Garcia, or if he had decided to do so anyhow.

You couldn't make this up if you tried. As for the reporter going to their door, well it is a story that is being covered by the news media. It does involve the elections. So I don't fault the reporter for trying to get some information from Sternad, and I can understand why Sternad doesn't want to talk to the press.
