(17,277 posts)I lean to 60% luck and 40% hard work. I was born with a brain and other attributes that gave me the opportunity to work hard and achieve my goals. Ive decided hard work alone wouldnt have been enough.

(7,411 posts)Some successful people fully understand the role that luck plays in success. They use their skill and hard work to put themselves in a position to be lucky. These positions maximize the chances of good luck and minimize the chances of bad luck. When bad luck strikes, they cut their losses, apply lessons learned, move to a move favorable position, and try again.

(32,626 posts)reminds me of that saying- born on third base, and goes through life believing they hit a triple. I've experienced both success and luck, and have to say all of my successes have by nature included luck. I had the luck of being able to work hard to achieve. Makes a huge difference.
