(1,685 posts)Which can cause clotting problems resulting in DVT then you would be on a drug like warfarin or Xarelto or other prescribed drugs. I have this problem and when I have been in the hospital for bowel obstruction surgery they have used heparin via IV to prevent clotting. I dont think that they use warfarin via IV but I could be wrong.

(28,787 posts)that, should you become ill with Covid, your medical team will have to advise you on. for more information, you can ask a question in the youtube comments, but you can't take the response as medical advice. A large percentage of the people viewing MedCram's videos are medical professionals and there are some who treat Covid too.
best idea: don't get sick.

(1,685 posts)The surgeon is guided by my pcp and my history. The Leiden factor 5 is genetic. The issue with Warfarin is that virtually everything impacts it. Foods, other meds, alcohol will all impact it. Xarelto doesnt have that issue but there is no antidote for Xarelto. If you are clotting too slowly while on warfarin they can give you vitamin K. There is nothing available yet that reverses Xarelto.
