What I don't get is how an obvious POC founded a right wing, white supremacy outfit and got white supremacist to follow him.

He must be related to Dave Chapele's Clayton Bigsby.

But I don't think it's the kind you think. If you think Tarrio's presence is some liberal thing in Proud Boys that these Republicans embrace ... well, it's not how racism works among Latinos. Theirs is generally just like white racism here.

The history of it bears out what we also see, which is current white supremacy alliances driving many countries' shifts to the right these days. White supremacy is one thing Putin, Trump, Bolsonaro and right wing leaders have in common. Do they have explicit race policy behind borders, immigration and their peoples' xenophobia? They don't have to.

Ibram X Kendi's How to Be an Antiracist lays out the history of how Prince Henry the Navigator sponsored the first Atlantic voyages to West Africa by the Portuguese from 1434 to 1447, to exclusively trade African bodies. His first biographer and apologist was the first race maker, Gomes de Zurara, chronicler for King Afonso V, who blended the colors, languages and ethnic groups of Africa into one single group worthy of enslavement. It was the French poet Jacques de Breze who first used the term "race" in 1481.

As slave trade grew with the Spanish, and King Afonso V accumulated more capital from selling enslaved Africans to foreigners "than all the taxes levied on the entire kingdom," those Euro societies were the first to create racial hierarchy, cataloguing differences. Then Carl Linnaeus formally locked in the racial hierarchy in his Systema Naturae, color coding the races as white, yellow, red and black, attaching each to one of the four regions of the world and describing their characteristics, hierarchalizing them by differences, whites at the top, blacks at the bottom.

Race and capitalism were born together, and justified for centuries by the first race policy construct used to justify racist ideas that in turn redirected blame for victimization upon the victims themselves. Rationalized capture and domination allows commodification, the original basis of capitalism. Before the West's racial capitalism, there was just slave trade among societies. After the triangle slave trade, capitalism grew on the lifeblood of slave labor.

The whole body(slave)--sugar(slave work)--cotton(slave work) commodity supply chain spread both capitalism and race ideas.

We've fought against this embedded policy/science/racism baggage ever since. But for sure, Latinos are wooed by Republicans who try to drive a split between Latinos and Blacks.

Racism is racism and far from liberal. Where did you get such an idea?

I wouldn't think you'd think such a thing. I guess I should have just asked you to elaborate.

It's pretty much the money that's what trumpculters use to drive this wedge between two peoples who know the trumpcult is racist. Tarrio's a racist, too, and accepted by racists, which is likely one of the unspoken reasons he's used as an informant.
