Romney was saying so much bullshit, it might almost have looked bad if Obama kept saying nothing but "Lie, lie, lie, lie" even if it was true. If it had been just a few lies, sure. I don't know honestly.

The big story after that kind of debate would've been, "Obama spends entire debate attacking Romney. He has no ideas of his own! Angry black man attacks problem-solver!"

Let's see what happens in the 2nd debate. I intend to enjoy the blowback commercials between now and then.

of Obama speaking to a black audience, sounding like he's (shhhh) BLACK! He recognizes Rev. Wright in the audience. Yeah, that again. I think Obama may have felt he had to be careful about coming off as too aggressive, especially at the first debate.

Plus, there's the altitude thing. Landing in mile high city just hours before the debate was probably not a good idea. He probably had no choice though. He's still has a country to run, after all. Who knows what he's has to deal with with Libya, Syria, Turkey, Iran, Israel, and Egypt. Shit, now there's even unrest in Jordan. King Abdullah dissolved the parliament today. There's supposed to be a huge demonstration Friday.

So now we know, Mitt will lie, A LOT. I realize we knew that, but those undecideds that have been living under a rock may buy what Romney says, or they may think Obama is lying just as much. So Biden gets to take on Ryan, who's 20 years his junior, and he can come out swinging. Plus we're going to have 2 female moderators for the first time ever and they will be trying to prove that they are up to the task. That shouldn't be too hard after Jim Lehrer's epic fail.

Which is more important? Being on the defense by trying to correct all of Rmoney's lies? Or letting the voters know what he has accomplished and what still needs to be done and why he is the best person for the job?

That might had been the tactic the Rmoney people were trying to use. To get Obama off message and fighting all of their attacks. I think Rmoney was flustered or had a constipation problem. Towards the end his facial appearance was one of pain.

Why are there so many here that doubt Obama's position? He is much smarter than some are giving him credit for. It was all planned to get Mittens to babble on and on and lie and lie....it's all on tape and 60 million plus saw him in a rant that looked like he was on a cocaine high.

rMoney won on lies; Obama won on actual facts, not "truthinesses."

Obama had the air of someone with his mind on something more important (Syria just getting mortared by Turkey maybe?). Romney was hyperactive and jittery like he'd recently had caffeine for the first time in his life.

"The second topic, which is you said you get a deduction for taking a plant overseas. Look, I've been in business for 25 years. I have no idea what you're talking about. I maybe need to get a new accountant. But the idea that you get a break for shipping jobs overseas is simply not the case."

-- Mitt Romney, First presidential debate, University of Denver - (Oct. 3, 2012)
Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Evanston) has joined workers in asking Romney to show up and help.

Illinois' Governor Pat Quinn has visited the workers in Freeport, and asks Congress to pass the Bring Jobs Home Act. The Bring Jobs Home Act would eliminate the tax breaks that encourage companies like Bain and Sensata to close factories here and send the jobs and the work to countries like China, with the cash stopping off in the Cayman Islands for a quick tax cleansing. The Bring Jobs Home Act was recently filibustered by Senate Republicans.

Sensata workers collected 35,000 petition signatures, asking Romney to come to Freeport to help save the workers' jobs. This video shows what happened when they tried to deliver these petitions and a letter at a Romney campaign office in Madison. Instead of accepting the letter and petitions, the campaign locked them out and called the police.

The workers have pleaded with GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney, the founder of Bain Capital, to exert his considerable influence to save their jobs. So far, he has declined to weigh in, and the factory is scheduled to close by the end of the year.

While Rob-me lays on his yacht eating bon-bons and practicing lies for weeks, Obama is working and only God knows what he's had to deal with the past month or so with the Libya attack and many other countries in upheaval. Rob-me is a mega-loser. God forbid if we let them steal this election again and allow the bum stay in office. America will be doomed.

Remember Jon Lovitts character on SNL. "Hello I'm a member of Pathological Liars Anonymous." "In fact, I'm the president of that organization; yeah that's the ticket. Mitt Romney is that guy for real! Why the hell no one in the mainstream press will call him out as a bad face liar really bothers me.

This has been a really tough day. I'm just got home from work and I've had a sick to my stomach feeling all day that that reminds me of 2000 and 2004. Is anyone out there still confident that, even with the voter suppression efforts, we can still win this thing? Talk me down here.

I am in Iowa and already voted for Obama/Biden. While President Obama seemed slightly disinterested--who wouldn't be, standing next to a pathological liar--I give him kudos for doing well enough to get through it and still, I hope, enjoy their Anniversary. Mitt's lies will not go unnoticed. I am just not surprised at anything that he says anymore. I trust the Foreign Affairs debate will go to President Obama as he has three years experience on Mitt's robust commentary to the British on how to run an Olympics, AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!

my take was that Mitt's backpedaling on so many issues took Pres by surprise a little. We've seen the Obama administration take its lumps in the first round before, then hit the 2nd round on their toes and deliver straight knockouts to their opponent.
