I've found that - with very rare exception - the only way to get along with these people (if you must) is just to listen and say next to nothing as they spit out their garbage.

Anything short of that - including a friendly "hold that thought..." - just pisses them off. Even a "well.." is tantamount to a declaration of war to these people.

The exact opposite of how two friends should relate to each other.
