Maddow: re Elain Chao--even a 2nd grader would understand what corruption is...Rachel Maddow didn't sugarcoat it Wednesday night. Elaine Chao misused her office as Trump's alleged "Transportation Secretary" from the beginning, appearing regularly to promote her father's business while in office. Drain the swamp? Not in the Transportation Dept. [Francis Langum @ crooks&liars/msnbc 3/4/21]
MADDOW: One of the things you might conjure up from a second grader’s level understanding of that concept is hypothetically, you might have a person in the government whose job in the government was they were in charge of road-building projects. Right? That person could not also own part of a company that was the country’s biggest supplier of road-building materials. Right? If you were a second grader trying to show you understood what corruption is, that would be like an almost oversimplified example of what it would mean to be corrupt. Being in charge of road-building while also holding a personal financial stake in company that does road-building that stands to benefit financially from your actions as public official.

1. As the saying goes "God creates them, then they unite"...Moscow Mitch & Chao, the perfect pair
That is the reason why republicans identify with Ronald Reagan and trump, because they are all corrupt.
I would challenge anyone to point out a republican who is not corrupt. It has been like that for ages, their best and most honest republican, Theodore Roosevelt, had to fight that corruption within his party constantly, he was a progressive, he hated corruption and dishonesty, he fought those in his party who, like today, were trying to throw those republicans under the bus who did not conform with their ideologies. They have always eaten their own when they don't march to their tune without a single deviation. The republican party has always been corrupt. Every time I hear someone say "we must get the republican party back to hold the values that have always characterized us." BS...the republican party has always been corrupt, it has always been a party of white rich men, (granted, I don't have a problem with people being rich, if they earned it honestly), they have always been racists, liars, hungry for power, and ready to work for their self-interests and those of the people who finance their campaigns, there are no "moral values" to go back to, unless they want to start admiring Theodore Roosevelt and his progressive ideas, and give up the trash from Reagan and trump. |
