Absolutely another tax cut. Plus, he would have been using the vaccine rollout as a weapon. LaMouffette Mar 2021 #4

It's always a pleasure seeing a humanist pro like Krugman agree with another humanist pro like Biden - and on such historic legislation.

Can you imagine if Needy Amin had somehow wormed his way into a second term?

He and his congresscritters would be passing a $1.9 trillion bill alright - in the form of another massive tax cut for the rich.

"It'll trickle down to all yous ingrates!" Cheeto would bark.

He would have been doing what De Santis is doing to Florida but on a nationwide and worldwide scale: making sure wealthy people received vaccinations before anyone else, keeping minorities from getting vaccinated, punishing blue states by withholding vaccine doses, selling the vaccine at inflated prices to other countries and lining his own pockets with the money, and also selling preferentially to countries led by dictators like Jair Bolsonaro in Brazil and leaving countries, even our allies, whose leaders do not like him high and dry.

You pretty much described Cheeto's Covid response in a nutshell - that, and pandering to the mask-burners and hoax-bellowers.

economist. But I couldn't understand a lot of Economics because I didn't have any history of the science. So I took a course in Econ. when I went back to school to get a M.A.

OMG.

It was so hard. I couldn't do the math. The professor hated me. Or pitied me.

It was too bad cuz I kinda like the Mercantilists...and of course the Marxists.

I know...

I recall they themselves predicting that that, in fact, is what it would probably take.

We're just lucky we happen to have the kind of administration now that's willing to do so - although even a far-right elitist like Cheeto was forced to to some extent (the CARES Act, which he was practically dragged kicking and screaming into signing).

the rest of the free world. It took a maniac as President, and his insane followers, for us to realize that what they were selling us was a crock of shit. Of course, we here on DU were onto him early.
and it took a man with his humility and tragedy in his own life be our beacon of hope.
