is that they have yet to receive substantial amounts already donated / pledged.

We can both agree that UNICEF all around does good work and that your money isn't just going to line pockets - which some NGOs have been accused of - the UN is a safe bet. The International Red Cross is also always a good choice.

Disasters Emergency Committee.

£107m was donated by the UK public - pretty good that.
