The Republican party of today is definitely shredding all ties to its past, and to the constitution, and to any meaningful and productive political dialogue it may have had with the opposition party in its past. The terrifying thing is that every day the GOP becomes more and more like a domestic terrorist organization, radicalizing its adherents in their allegiance to the Big Lie. Although GOP hardliners may call themselves conservatives, this is actually the polar opposite of the rational, sensible conservatism that we have traditionally seen from the GOP, which had a valid and useful place in American political life.
