You’d think the states residents would get tired of that.

The former guy lost - twice actually - and is facing all manner of legal challenges. He's history, like a bad dream, what is appealing about that??

2. Abbott has been on an authoritarian streak over the past two to three months.

I'm hoping that one of the challengers in the GOP primary leaves him so damaged that whomever the Democrats nominate will able to get the victory in the general election. I don't see why anyone would ever vote for Abbott because there is nothing appealing about him or his policies.

And it looks like he has quite a slate of Republican challengers, And when I looked at the potential Democratic challengers, I realized that I knew almost all of them! Any one of them should be able to get national support. Has Beto declared yet? He'd be amazing, you know he's long been a favorite of mine, but the others mentioned - the Castro brothers and Wendy Davis - would be terrific (and a relief), too!

Of the Castro brother, Julian is probably better suited for the job as governor than Joaquin who has round his role in Congress. Unfortunately, I doubt that Wendy Davis will find a way back into politics and I don't hear anybody who ready to go out and support her again. The one that I'm keeping an eye on is Rep. Rafael Anchia since he could bring out the Hispanic vote. I posted a thread last week about him:

And he'd be just terrific! And, you're right, he would appeal to a more diverse - and larger - electorate besides having the best ideas that would benefit the people.

The former guy's unfinished and poorly planned border "wall." And instead of supervising the cleanup and attempting to reverse the damage, this pair of idiots want to continue it?? We all remember the desperate crisis of last winter when people froze and died - and instead of addressing the current record heat crisis, they're focusing on this failed and environmental damaging policy??
