Related: About this forumThis is rape': Protesters yell at parents walking with masked kids at school event
Obviously, if this protester were anyone of importance whose opinion on the subject mattered, she wouldnt behave like this. She behaves like this because she knows deep down that shes pushing a belief system based on nothing and that her opinion is unimportant. People get emotional and in your face when theyre defending unexamined belief systems, they dont get emotional discussing facts. When was the last time someone started screaming about Euclidean geometry or Einsteins theory of relativity?
Moreover, the only ones being abusive toward children here are the adults getting aggressive and yelling about rape as kids walk to school with their parents.

(204,779 posts)Yesterday when I went to the store, I was initially puzzled to see quite a few young kids wearing masks while their parents were not. Then it dawned on me that the parents must have been vaccinated while these kids, all under 10, were not. And the notices on store entrances in these parts say that unvaccinated patrons are still required to wear masks. I think still wearing a mask is a good idea while in public, but the state of New York rescinded the mask mandate for vaccinated people in early July, just in time for "tourist season." They are now using - and it's printed on the signs - "the honor system." *sigh*
But these young kids are used to wearing masks while in school, masks are required in all schools and on school buses, so the kids are used to it, and so it's not an issue for them as long as everyone else is doing it.

(25,816 posts)rates here, the stores, thanks to an enlightened Governor's mandate, require masks. I'm fully vaccinated, and I have a LOT of confidence in my basic health and my own personal immune system, I'm very glad to see the masks. I do see more people with the mask under the nose than I should, unfortunately.
I was at a science fiction thing last weekend in Denver, MileHi Con. Everyone was masked all the time, other than in the restaurant/bar. What's great about science fiction people is that they understand science.
