An American treasure gone too soon... a tragic ending. I hope this becomes reality.

(6,768 posts)And a Mork line I will remember the rest of my life. Mindy picked up the phone and she said it was an important Call. Mork said;
Who is it, Mindy?
The President?
The Pope?
FRANK ZAPPA?
Been a FZ fan since the October 16, 1971 Zappa/Mothers Stony Brook late show. First album was Just Another Band from L.A., because it was the same set list as my first show, with the Flo and Eddie Mothers.

NurseJackie
(42,862 posts)... his depression, his drug and alcohol abuse, his "diffuse Lewy body dementia" (and the fact that this could become a motion picture) are of great interest. He's woven into the very fabric of our national collective consciousness. Just the same way that Shatner in Space is also interesting.
How's that? Hmmm?

NurseJackie
(42,862 posts)It's a way to re-focus the attention on mental-health, substance abuse, and dementia. His depression and suicide are being talked about again. It's similar to when Michael J. Fox's celebrity status brings attention and interest to Parkinson's Disease, or when the celebrity status of people like Fran Drescher or Angelina Jolie draws attention to breast cancer.
Smart people who should know better understand and pick-up on these things. Others focus more on the messenger rather than the underlying message. (If you know what I mean.)
Me.
