(717 posts)I love my electric bike but I love it more now that I live in the country. I saw a wonderful video about the success of bikes in some cities more so than others. It came down to the bike paths being well maintained and open. In NYC the bike lane is used for 2x parking. Free bike would be cool tho.

(518 posts)I love my bike. I don't have an e bike yet but I love biking and hate driving. I wasted so much of my life sittng in traffic in the US. The infrastructure for biking is great here with bike lanes or separate bike paths. Also Dutch bikes are brilliant.

(72,377 posts)jerks who dont call out but just pass you. Yes, Im happy they give mobility to people who otherwise wouldnt have it, but Im tired of them mowing me down, especially if they are ridden by fit young people. If my 50 yo body can struggle up that hill, you dont need a frickin mini motorcycle to do it.
Mopeds harassing people in national parks. Thats where we are now.

(6,446 posts)It's my biggest problem with electric cars too. I'm surprised more accidents don't happen specifically because of this issue. The sound of a speeding car has saved me from being struck as a pedestrian and a cyclist. Maybe they could emit a pleasant hum?
