(205,199 posts)To the point of ignoring all other candidates. But now that he's finally out of office, whatever he has to say should no longer be relevant, but the media still can't resist his continued bizarre rantings.

(7,845 posts)has a clue as to what is news and what is salacious garbage...they equate the two...Trump's every burp and fart was "breaking news"...his racist revenge vomit was something to discuss and parse ad nauseam...no delving into the uncomfortable like 800,000 COVID deaths because of that depraved sociopath's callous disregard for human life..ho hum boring...but the orange maggot awarding the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Rush Limbaugh/ Jim Jordan...now that's news!..the media created this monster, the networks make big bucks off of this monster...there's no way they will ever quit him...not good for the bottom line...

(205,199 posts)In Mary Trump's second book she brings this up - that a camera focused on an empty podium or a plane sitting on the runway waiting for TFG was considered more newsworthy than whatever any other candidates were saying or doing. Not to mention that most of his actions or pronouncements while in office were elevated to breaking news, despite being harmful to the country and Americans (especially those regarding Covid) or just plain ridiculous (the previously venerated awards you cited).
