There are those who want to control the net as it is one source where finding the truth is hard to block....for now.

2. For instance, Quoting...

These are just conversations I could be having on the net yet each of the above statements comes from Echart Tolle's "The New Earth". Hearing it without knowing it comes from that book means I didn't know it was copyrighted yet I could still be arrested. This is not the way to go after movie pirating and should never have been brought before congress. Which makes me suspect there were alternative motives for bringing such idiocy to the floor...Control of the net using copyright as an excuse to justify control.
