It's not the Russian army or air force that worries me, it's Putin and nuclear weapons.

...but it would be a better characterization to say NATO scrambled the jets to respond to a potential threat and provide a deterrence.
They would likely not have expected to actually intercept the enemy jets. This is really an alarmist headline.
