(47,366 posts)Especially when the video clips tell you all you need to know. When I watch MSNBC, I often fast-forward through a lot of the commentary, as often they are just repeating the same thing in different words. I'm to the point that I would really like a little more actual news and less opinion on what has been reported. I do like some backstory and maybe some explanation or opinion, but an hour of news shouldn't be 80% redundant commentary.
Brian Tyler Cohen tends to go on and on as if we couldn't figure out what we've just seen and heard. I rather read an editorial in the newspaper.

(17,187 posts)now I know what I'm suffering from..."commentary overload", my only medicine against it is my DVR
which allows me to fast forward through the redundancy.

(47,366 posts)I'm glad to know I'm not alone. If I were to watch cable news all day, I would still miss a lot of significant news stories, because so much time and energy is dedicated to endless commentary by guests and contributors. That is almost as bad as cable news reporting all day on just ONE major story, as if nothing else is happening in the world.
I used to like some commentary, but now as soon as they introduce "the panel" I hit fast-forward. I end up watching a one hour show in ten or fifteen minutes. Time to start investing in real investigative reporters instead of all these paid experts. I think cable news needs to consider some major changes if they want to hold an audience these days.

(156 posts)I am sure it ends in disaster for Oz because he is an idiot and has no business running for office. Could not listen to his crap on Oprah and cant listen to him now. OTOH, love listening to Fetterman breath of fresh air and that is what we need right now.

(13,484 posts)topic maybe? Let me know. I understand Senators and congress people can have dual citizenship. I think they should have to renounce their citizenship to the other country.
