(14,302 posts)FBI, Homeland Security search alleged properties of Russian oligarch in New York and Florida
The properties are allegedly linked to the sanctioned Russian oligarch Viktor Vekselberg, a close ally of President Vladimir Putin and the subject of a Justice Department investigation
Federal agents were seen Thursday morning searching an apartment in a Manhattan high-rise and an estate in the Hamptons that authorities allege are connected to a Russian oligarch who recently had his yacht seized, according to sources familiar with the matter.
Homeland Security Investigations and FBI agents, along with New York City Police Department detectives, were seen carrying boxes during a search on Duck Pond Lane in Southampton, New York, and Park Avenue in Manhattan. Records show those properties are linked to the sanctioned Russian oligarch Viktor Vekselberg, a billionaire and a close ally of President Vladimir Putin, who heads the Moscow-based Renova Group, a conglomerate with interests in the metals, mining and tech industries, according to Department of the Treasury documents.
A search is also underway at a property on Miamis Fisher Island that authorities say was linked to Vekselberg, according to sources familiar with the matter.

Justice matters.
(6,925 posts)Better be frequent revisions of those (and it's probably the case, let's hope).
If the traitor gave putler (previous) procedural codes to abort nuclear counter strikes, he would have probably used them already (or looking for 'ways' to crack DOD's systems for using those codes).

Justice matters.
(6,925 posts)so the Voting Rights Act can't pass...
And so many new bills that could protect democracy...
#1. Legislation to check all potential executive leader's fitness for office, mental state, security, finances, knowledge of the Constitution...
President Biden must convince those two to help protect democracy because it's urgent!

(205,237 posts)And isn't Kyrsten Sinema up for reelection? But you're absolutely right, getting rid of the filibuster needs to be a priority for our next Congress. Chances are looking better that we'll increase our majority - but we've learned not to count on anything. As for making sure that a potential POTUS is actually qualified to serve, that's essential. I like to think that TFG was an aberration - but then all we have to do is look at so many of the Republicans in Congress!
