Why does he continue to run his mouth? The case against him is getting tighter every time he opens his yap. His mental faculties are deteriorating rapidly. I think there's a good chance he'll never even be tried. He won't make it that long. When it's all said and done, people need to remember that we had a very sizable minority here who followed a mad man around and tried to start another American Civil War, or maybe another world war. Maybe future generations will see it as a cautionary tale, and learn from our mistakes. Oh, who am I kidding? They won't even remember last week.

Will make of this bizarre aberration in our long line of presidents, some great, some not so good, but absolutely nothing like this unqualified grifting blowhard who not only refused to do the job, but alienated our long time allies and embraced our most dangerous adversaries - and this was even before his two well deserved impeachments and he attempted to overthrow the government he wanted to lead. How to explain this to future generations?? It's been like a bad movie...

It would make me happy to know that people in the future will see all of our mistakes and learn from them. It would help me feel better about what we're going through, that it's to provide knowledge to future generations. But that's not how it works, historically. Empires gain power over time, and then they decline and another power(s) comes in to fill the vacuum. We Americans like to think that we're the exception, that we are the most democratic country to have an empire, so the purity of our system will make our empire last indefinitely. So we'll see, but I'm a bit of a pessimist, because history is not on our side.

And we've weathered them, managed to unite again - at least the majority of us. But then we've never had such a divisive administration before - and we never completely got over some major issues of the past. We never did address the issues of the Civil War, with the death of Lincoln succeeded by Andrew Johnson who abandoned the plans for Reconstruction, assimilating Freedman as equal citizens. That led to continuing abuses and the Civil Rights struggle a century later - which we're still dealing with now. And having a bigoted POTUS has brought out these issues all over again. He actually chose an Attorney General who was refused a federal judgeship because of his known views on segregation - and the Justice Department was formed in 1870 to deal with post-Civil War issues and its Civil Rights division was ignored during his tenure.

TFG has left us with myriad problems and that's just one of them. President Biden has done an admirable job reestablishing relations with our allies - but our issues with our global adversaries are at a real low point, especially Russia. We do have hope now, but there's also the sharp divisions in Congress, also thanks to TFG. And we've never had an ex-POTUS who attempted to cling to power like this. He's our biggest problem right now - still - and we desperately need for him to just go away.

To get to Ginni Thomas. Why the hold up? She was among the worst of the instigators! Why has she not been called in by the committee?

Great post! Thanks, have not seen you lately! Everything all right? I was wondering about you because you always bring out the best.

Yeah, I'm doing pretty good. I came home and got high and the night's been great. Feel great, not too stoned, just relaxed. I wonder if Ginni has testified to the J6 Committee already. I heard them saying at one time they were.going to have her testify but I don't know if it ever happened. That's another can of worms, almost as bad as investigating a former President. I don't envy the DOJ. They are walking on tightrope over a mine field. I think we're going to see some things happen soon. That's probably why Biden made that speech. He's trying to prepare everyone for the problems we've had that until now have been unseen.

We are still waiting for the ending. Turn on the news you hear Trump calling the President,” A threat to democracy!” The Press thrives on this hate.

A few minutes,I turn them off.

Rhiannon, are you OK? Have not seen you lately! Missed your posts. My family all came down with Covid. So far, congestion and headaches. They have had all their shots.

I've been seeing an ENT, but it hasn't seemed to help. And my cat is under the weather, too - he hasn't been eating and has had trouble getting around, so we've been hand feeding him and he saw a veterinary neurologist last week. It never rains, but it pours...

So sorry to hear about your family. Good for them that they got all their shots, that likely made the difference. We've been lucky here, though I had the flu back in April instead, affected me for a month. And I've been arguing with my brother about getting his vaccines - he keeps asking me "How many more??" I've had all mine, but couldn't talk him into his second booster. Now it looks like I have to start working on him for the latest shot.

And yes, it has been like a bad movie, this nation has become so divided. And here we thought that things would change once we got rid of the divider-in-chief, but he's still out there, still inciting his "followers." We've had centuries of ex-presidents, but never anything like him before. Something has to happen to shut him up for good. As long as he's inexplicably still regarded as the head of what was once the Republican party, Congress is still going to be divided like never before. How many laws (not to mention norms) does he have to break before he faces consequences??

Good to see you, my friend! Try and stay healthy and hang in there!

My Son started with sinus, but had been to the doctor with lower back and leg pain. Cortisone shot but he thinks that started it. They are better now, then the Grandson got it. He just graduated from Ohio U, so is in the process of going on his own.

So many families are getting the mild version.

Hope your kitty is much better and your sinus, too. We are finally getting rain.. that is helping the allergies. Get well soon.

And college has to have been a tougher experience than our generation had. I know a couple with a son and daughter away at college and, due to Covid, they both keep being sent home. And my friend got her Masters, worked so hard for it and I planned to attend her graduation, but it was canceled due to Covid, they just sent her diploma in the mail.

Plus, I live in a tourist area. Summer before last everything closed down. But now they're back the same as ever, when I drive up north (Lake George) the streets and sidewalks are packed, license plates from all over the country. At least by tomorrow, they'll all be headed home.

And we've also had a stormy summer, I do feel bad for the campers. I'm near the woods and the mountains and there are times driving home that the roads are like an obstacle course.

Thanks for the get well wishes, at least I got food and meds into my kitty tonight.
