It isn't on the line, the majority are over the line of not supporting the constitution. lark Sep 2022 #2

... the "legitimacy" problem started with Bush v. Gore. Since then, I've seen the SC as clearly political. The Dobbs decision showed my opinion was correct, although I do appreciate Kagan's voice.

They only intend to get further right wing until the constitution is totally meaningless because we would be a christofascist nation with all laws onlly applying to working class and poor, minorities, and women and of course LGBTQ folks.

what can be done, how do we eliminate the problem? It is fine to "warn", but as long as nothing is done to eliminate the problem, those who are the problem do not care.

It is the same with all the warning about a possible civil war, the push for trump and republicans to incite violence, but I don't see anything happening. By now the intelligence agencies and the military should be ready to act in seconds to push back and eliminate these threats. I have to assume they are doing it and we are not supposed to know anything about it, but we should at least have warnings from the administration that "actions will be taken if another act of violence like the one we experienced on January 6, 2021 occurs. The administration is ready to combat any aggressive actions that may come from domestic enemies, that violence will not be tolerated and those who intend to act on it will suffer grave consequences." Just say that and you eliminate a big percentage of those who think they can get away with it. Also warn trump and his gang about inciting violence, that they will be made accountable and responsible for any violence that comes from their followers.
