Repubs in blue states know they've got it good with Democratic leadership. They just want to find fault, never really do the hard work of governing because they're lazy and corrupt. That's the case in Illinois where I've just moved from, where they slam Pritzker but take the all the dough and benefits they can get. That's why the DOJ has recovered so much stolen Covid 19 rescue plan money over the last year -- it's from rethug scammers.

7. They are just so uninformed and there's no talking to them

I don't know all that many, but I still cringe when I remember some statements. A couple of years back, I was at a meeting and three of us were talking about where and when we managed to get vaccinated - the vaccine came late to our area and I had to go to another city to get my first two shots. And an older gentleman came in and weighed in on our conversation. He said that his granddaughters weren't getting the vaccine - in case they wanted to have children someday! What do you say to that??

5. Another day closer to a debt ceiling decision

The clown car has maybe a half tank of gas left. MTG is shopping for a new wardrobe. CPAC ORATORS are talking to empty chairs. The first amendment is on life support in Florida. Religious zealots, in the guise of elected officials, are bullying Walgreens, while zealot funders maintain their tax exempt status. The results of elections remain irrelevant to those who don’t know how fortunate they are. And George Santos is probably doing something bad right now that we will hear about this summer.
