The US Treasury has bailed out the financial institutions twice now, under both Bushes.
The 2009 Stimulus was not enough. We need our second bailout only; big enough this time.
The true test is coming: Austerity or an appropriate stimulus. Which one will the President project. The GOP projects austerity even though they know it will bring the working 90%, further down.
Printing money: American cannot get the hoarders out of the Cayman Islands. That money is not coming back.
Is America in a decline? I will be watching the voting record of Democratic lawmakers. And listening to the speech of the President very carefully.

(57,936 posts)I'm looking forward to hearing more from Kucinich now that he is free from his time-consuming work in the House.
He is a visionary and deserves a better forum from which to influence American thought than the House.
I think that Kucinich should form a digital think tank. We have some good digital sources of news. We need even more scholarly input. We need a think tank that produces articles and speakers who are effective and not right-wing. I think it could be done using internet resources and volunteers. The Huffington Post started out in that kind of direction but was soon waylaid.
