Thom Hartmann: What effect do SuperPacs have on TV Broadcasters?

Craig Aaron, Free Press.net joins Thom Hartmann. After Americans saw over $300 million in outside corporate cash flood the 2010 midterm elections - we know full well who benefited the most from the Supreme Court's Citizens United decision. And that was the Republican Party and their deep-pocketed corporate donors. Meanwhile - average Americans who don't have as much money - and therefore don't have as much speech, according to the Supreme Court - are screwed. But what no one seems to be talking about is who else stands to gain from the Citizens United decision...and that's commercial TV Broadcasters. After all - all these SuperPAC's need to pay TV broadcasters to air their negative ads and hit-piece documentaries. And already - we've seen more than 12 million bucks spent on TV advertising during the Iowa Caucuses - and 14 million bucks last week in the South Carolina primary. So what effect do corporate SuperPACS handing huge amounts of money to commercial TV broadcasters have on that branch of the Fourth Estate, and on our democracy?
