After his inaugural speech, SNL‘s President Obama met with the ghost of Martin Luther King, Jr., who seemingly only cared about Michelle Obama’s bangs and Beyoncé’s performance of the national anthem. Settling down with a beer to cap off inauguration night, Obama met Dr. King’s ghost (played by Keenan Thompson), who told the president he has so much to discuss with him. -snip-

until he said that he shouldn't have to be serious for all eternity. Then I got their point and the it's my day off line was priceless.

3. Really Pissed Me Off

I was thinking going into it "Great, they are going to show Obama's shortcomings, he's going to chide him about using drones, continued war, and torture (perhaps). He's going to lightly jab him about siding with republicans and his general right-wing stance during his rule so far. He's going to poke fun about his seeming admiration of Reagan, the one who began our downfall and brought us to the current state of near-depression we're in.

Nope. It was nothing but deriding, making MLK look like a cheap, inconsequential, non-serious guy, who cared about nothing but chicks and insubstantial things. I can't believe you're not pissed, but then with our media it seems like MLK never gets attributed for a lot of things, for which he stood.

This skit? Well, it's just more of the same disrespect the corporate media is showing for this great man, by degrading his image.
