Just Beautiful... "It all goes together" - Alan Watts (video)

Last edited Mon Jan 28, 2013, 03:00 AM - Edit history (1)

Whoever cut this did a masterful job with Alan's words. For those who are unfamiliar, Watts is best known as an interpreter and populariser of Eastern philosophy for a Western audience. Many of his lectures were recorded and can be found in full on YouTube (with countless short clips edited from them, as well). This clip was uploaded a few weeks ago, and I think it's my favorite. Without further ado:

"the Book" altered my thinking and I have been considered nuts ever since. I consider myself nuts but I have a different world view thanks to Allen.

Anyone reading this that doesn't know of him, check him out, either his books or the Youtube clips. He opened a lot of minds.

I love it. I could hear Carl Sagans echo in Allens words. I SO thank my folks for never tainting my mind with the silliness of any religion. My religion is that there is none. It's me and mine and the elements we were drawn from.

I think there's nothing beyond that, the way I see it. But I respect your take, of course.

And I think Neil deGrasse Tyson is doing a good job picking up where they left off. Watts actually has (what I consider) an excellent companion clip to NDT's "Most Astounding Fact":

Using our technology with love instead of hate. With all my heart, I want it to be true, but holy cow, we gotta long ways to go in a short time, no?
