Hell or High Water

Anyone else watched this movie? I enjoyed it, but it got me thinking about social issues, especially Chris Pine's line near the end when he said "I've been poor my whole life" and being poor was "like a disease" that passes from "generation to generation." But a really good movie overall, bit of Robin Hood-ish.

Lots of nice little touches. The young waitress who got the big tip. The old waitress who took no shit from anyone. The relationship between the old ranger (Jeff Bridges) and his Native American partner (Gil Birmingham). I had the good fortune to see it in the theater and the West Texas vistas were, at the same time, breathtaking and desolate.

The guy who wrote it, Taylor Sheridan, wrote and directed Wind River, which was in theaters recently. He also wrote Sicario a few years ago. Talented guy. We will be seeing great things from him. Check these films out too. A follow up to Sicario will be out in 2018 called Soldado.
