Is that even though Scotty is from ...what?...300 years in the future...whatever, he STILL knew how to use and was able to make a basic desktop computer from the late 80's, that likely had less memory than my iPhone, do this complex modeling of a molecule in a matter of seconds.
Sulu flying the Bell 204 was more realistic!
Edit to add;...reminds me of a joke a comedian said about the movie "Independence Day" regarding Jeff Goldblum uploading a virus into the alien mothership;
"Just goes to show you that even aliens have to get their software from Bill Gates"
